Create a safe “School Street” outside St. Stephen’s CofE Primary School on Winchester Road

Statement

We, the undersigned, petition the Council to close Winchester Road from The Turks Head to the A316 to non-residential traffic Monday – Friday 8.00am - 9.30am and 2.30pm – 4.30pm (term time only) promoting safe, healthy and active travel to school.

Details

At St. Stephen’s School we are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all our children. Further to the Mayor’s Clean Air Audit, we are campaigning to do whatever it takes to improve the air quality around our school. By introducing a restricted access to the road at pick up and drop off time, we hope to make the immediate area around our school gate safer and healthier and greatly improve the street scene for our neighbours.
