Introduce a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) in Lambert Avenue to prevent long‑term parking by non‑residents and ensure that local families have fair access to parking near their homes.

Details

Lambert Avenue is increasingly used by non‑residents, including commercial vans, highway maintenance vehicles, and individuals who leave their cars parked for long periods of time. This has created significant pressure on the limited parking available for the people who actually live on the street. Many families, including mine, rely on being able to park close to our homes, especially when caring for young children. However, finding a parking space has become extremely challenging due to the volume of external vehicles occupying the road throughout the day and night. A Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) would help ensure that parking is prioritised for residents, reduce long‑term external parking, and improve safety and accessibility for families living in Lambert Avenue. We believe this measure is necessary to protect the residential character of the street and support the wellbeing of local households.
