Justification: Our cul-de-sac at the end of Boileau Road has become the go-to spot for B1 parking permit holders, who often leave their cars from early morning until late at night (and sometimes even for weeks). Given that this location is the nearest unrestricted area to the tube station, it attracts a large number of commuters who park here for the entirety of their working day, if no longer. There is also an electric car charging point that occupies another three parking spaces. Unfortunately, this situation severely impacts the residents households in this road who live here, some of which have young children. Also, residents often have heavy shopping to carry, and there are elderly neighbours, and some individuals with disabilities who genuinely need to park close to their homes. The current parking situation is not only inconvenient but also unfair to those of us who live here.

Council response
Given the low number of signatures and that these don’t include a sufficient number from adjacent Lonsdale Road, this petition does not unfortunately meet the Council’s criteria for a new parking consultation to be commenced.
However, we will note the interest/request for longer parking controls and we will consider this as part of the review of the zone B extension next year. Thank you for your interest.
