More out door basketball courts

Statement

To provide more accessible outdoor basketball courts within the borough.

Details

There is an ever growing demand for new basketball courts in London, specifically within the borough of Richmond. Teenagers/ Adults who play end up having to travel to Clapham Common, and all be it that they are lovely courts the convenience of having a few more dotted around the borough would be amazing. There is strong community and interest for the sport, with a handful of adult and kids teams in the borough. This petition isn’t for the multipurpose football / basketball facilities as most boroughs have, but for outdoor basketball courts like the below. https://claphamcommon.basketball/about/

The Parks Team are currently working on creating new basketball provision in (as part of a MUGA) on Beauford Cout in Ham – this will entail resurfacing existing and introducing new goal/basketball ends and line marking to improve our sport and play offer in the Ham area.

On behalf of the Parks Team we thank you for your time and efforts on this matter and hope that you explore some the facilities above that you may not have been aware of.
