Parking Issues in Grenville Mews, Hampton

Statement

Many residents of Grenville Mews petition the Council to consider and introduce measures to remove indiscriminate, obstructive and potentially unsafe parking from parents associated with the adjacent school

Details

Many residents of Grenville Mews, including Uxbridge Road, would like to petition the Council to introduce measures to mitigate dangerous and inconsiderate parking in the Mews - primarily from parents / carers of pupils from the adjacent school - who park dangerously and inconsiderately daily, including:

  • regularly parking on double yellow lines, blocking views and access to Uxbridge Road
  • regularly blocking safe road access into the Mews
  • blocking residents' driveways and parking in them, which are dropped kerbs
  • blocking access to private land, which is the garage block and parking in the private garage block area
  • parking cars in the middle of the road itself

This means that residents are often unable to find parking in the Mews, near their homes. This is compounded by residents from neighbouring roads, also parking in the Mews, 'displacing' Mews residents. Our road is narrow and a cul-de-sac.
