HGVs and Lorries on Shaftesbury Road

We would like the Council to investigate the problems associated with HGVs and lorries on Shaftesbury Road and consider options.

Details

Numerous cars belonging to residents on Shaftesbury Road have been hit by vehicles that are simply too big for the road itself. Often these incidents aren’t recorded anywhere and the drivers of the large vehicles are rarely honest enough to leave their details for insurance purposes. This dishonesty has caused the residents of the road to continually pay out of pocket to repair their cars only for it to happen again and again. Additionally, the heavy vehicles are forced to drive on the pavement, which has caused the pavement to become broken and therefore uneven and unsafe for the residents to walk on.
