Designate Cole Park Road TW1 1HX (North side) of A316 into Controlled Parking Zone

For some time and since the closure of access to the A316, we have seen a significant increase of non-resident parking in Cole Park Road North of A316. Many of us have witnessed people parking their vehicles in this Cul-de-Sac to commute from Twickenham Station and vehicles are left all day. The impact to us as residents is that when we or our family and friends visit, they are unable to find suitable parking. To improve the parking situation, we recommend the implementation of a CPZ in Cole Park Road North. We set out the following points in support of the application: Lack of parking and available space for the residents of Cole Park Road North. Safety of young children - A number of our residents are families with young children, the increased use of free parking on Cole Park Road increases the volume of travel on the road and exposes young children to safety as they are walking to nearby schools and nurseries. This is unacceptable and traffic needs to be directed elsewhere. Vehicles Damaged - Many residents have reported damage to their vehicles as the available road becomes narrower when vehicles are parked on both sides, if large delivery vans or trucks drive along the road, resident vehicles are damaged in the process. During maintenance or road works there are fewer parking spaces available and when commuters park their vehicles there is no available space for residents. Much of the daily parking comes from the commuters who either walk or bus to Twickenham station. This petition represents the wishes of the residents who are in favour of the implementation of Controlled Parking Zone in Cole Park Road (North) as an extension to Cole Park Road South Zone C.
