Grosvenor Avenue Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ)

Statement

We, the undersigned, petition the Council to create a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) on Grosvenor Avenue, Barnes.

Details

Parking on Grosvenor Avenue has been very difficult to find for residents recently. This is due to the lack of CPZ on the road meaning that non-residents can park at their own will and in a way that is not space efficient. We would like the Council to create a controlled parking zone (CPZ) on Grosvenor Avenue so that residents have priority to park during the peak hours.

Council response

The Council’s policy to consider requests for CPZs is evidence of support from at least 50% of ‘households’  (i.e. not signatures) in two interconnected roads. The petition submitted from Grosvenor Avenue ending on 17/12/19  yielded 31 signatures. There are 90 households in Grosvenor Avenue, including 14 in Gospatrick House.  Assuming that each signature is from a separate household, this petition represented 34% and therefore failed to meet the criteria.

The Parking Policy team  will monitor the progress of this new petition. Officers  have advised that they have received one petition from Avenue Gardens which did meet the criteria.  At this stage, they cannot advise as to any timescales on progressing this request as they are heavily committed on delivery of approved schemes.  These requests will be considered when it comes to reviewing the neighbouring zones B2 and ES.  In the meantime, your interest in parking controls has been recorded.
