‘This is the room from which I will direct the war’ Historian and academic Stephen Goss invites you to uncover the remarkable story of the Cabinet War Rooms - an underground complex beneath the Treasury that became the nerve centre of Britain’s wartime strategy. This talk offers a compelling journey through its secret corridors, revealing the critical decisions made within, the daily realities of life in the bunker, and an illuminating portrait of Winston Churchill as both statesman and wartime leader. The Reminiscence Café meets monthly to celebrate history and culture and is a great way to connect with local residents.
