Lack of parking in Bucklands Road

Statement

Hello Since the car park on Bucklands Road has been closed due to more social housing going up the parking has become very limited. There are more cars than there are spaces so there is now an overflow onto Munster Road and Broome road. Residents have more than 1 car and often leave cars for over a year before moving them. Other residents park on double yellow lines which restricts the view when driving in or out of the estate. Some people even park on pavements. Could it at least be considered that this becomes a permit holder road? There are no signs nor is there traffic wardens so this matter is only going to get worse. It’s a collision waiting to happen. Also there should be more disabled badge bays. Also the pavements and road surface is dangerous.

Details

RHP have advised me to contact Richmond council as there is nothing they can do. The quality of the pavements and roads are very unsafe also.

Council response

The Council is happy to consider requests to investigate the possibility of introducing a Controlled Parking Zone on adopted highway roads provided they are  in the form of a petition representing support from 51% or over of households in a minimum of two adjacent roads.  Any petitions received meeting this criteria will be considered along with all other requests when deciding the team’s future work programme.

More information is on the process is on the Council’s website here: https://www.richmond.gov.uk/services/parking/cpz/cpz_consultation
