We, the undersigned, petition the council to resist the Government’s intended sale of Kneller Hall in Whitton, the home of the Royal School of Military Music. We also petition the Council to further protect the strategic Metropolitan Open Land on the site, being central to Whitton, and to preserve it for the community in an area of the borough which already has limited open space.
Kneller Hall is part of our cultural heritage and a tangible reminder of our Royal links. It is also a fundamental part of Whitton's community and the Government's desire to sell it off without consultation is a huge blow to the residents of Whitton and the wider borough. We call on the Council to resist the sale and to continue to welcome the ongoing establishment of the Royal School of Military Music at Kneller Hall.
In addition we call on the Council to ensure that this strategic site of open land, designated as Metropolitan Open Land, is protected for the enjoyment of the community now and for the future.
