My Richmond Villages

What is My Richmond Villages?

Following the All in One survey and village planning events Richmond Council has launched “My Richmond Villages”. This is an online forum where you will be able to find out the latest information about what the Council is doing in your local area in response to the issues you raised through the All in One. It is also a forum where you can tell the Council and others in your local area about what the community is already doing to improve it, to bring people together or get them more involved (find out more about the All in One). On these pages there will be a series of online, forums, polls and blogs about issues and things that are going on in your local area. Join the current Community Links live debate below.

Your village survey results and village planning event

Click on your village area on the left hand side to see the All in One survey results for your village area. You will also be able to see information about the issues discussed at your village planning event held during May to July 2011. There is a blog about the event, a video about your local area and the online discussions held following the events that even those who could not attend the chance to continued the debate. You can also read your village newsletter, and updates will be posted on what’s been going on in your area since your village planning event.

Community Links - Live online debate

From the All in One we heard that lots of people wanted to get more involved in making their areas better, but didn’t know what the opportunities were or where to go to find out more and get support. We are setting up a community links project to help bridge this gap.

The project will help promote community involvement by keeping local communities informed about what the Council is doing, by building a better understanding of what community activity is already happening, helping identify and promote opportunities for local people to get involved and helping local people and groups find the support they need to take part.

Help us build the community links by joining our online discussion around the following issues:

  • Tell us about anything you are already doing to improve your area or support your local community
  • Tell us about any new ideas or projects you think the community and Council could take forward to help improve your local area or support your local community?
  • How do you think we can bring local people together to get more involved in their communities?

View or take part in the discussion.

Samantha Dottin is the Community Links Coordinator, please contact her on allinone@richmond.gov.uk if:

  • You want to get involved in your local community but don’t know how
  • You want to know more about the opportunities and support available

If you don't want to post your views online simply email allinone@richmond.gov.uk. Each village area will have a named Community Links Officer who will be the key contact for that area.  The Community Links will start in Hampton, Ham and Petersham, Hampton Wick and Kew between now and May it will then be rolled out across the borough.

Don’t forget the nominations for the Community roads and pavement fund will be open from 9 April to 21 May. Tell us where the worst roads and pavements are and how the £35,000 for your local area should be spent.
